We are reeling from the pain of the massacre in Orlando this past weekend and its aftermath -- the toxic combination of homophobia, Islamophobia, and the power of the gun lobby has made our hearts so heavy. There is so much work to be done to overcome these forces, locally, nationally, and globally.

And in this moment, one man and his movement are doing everything they can do to promote hate and fear: Donald Trump. Jews all around the country are joining the fight to confront his anti-Muslim, anti-feminist, anti-queer, anti-immigrant propaganda. We've seen what happens when people fail to confront hateful demagoguery with everything they've got, and we're not going to let it happen again.

Here in DC (and around the country), we will be kicking off these efforts with a short vigil on Tuesday, June 21st, which is the yartzeit (anniversary of a death) of civil rights activists James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Mickey Schwerner. In their memory, and in solidarity with all those in the crosshairs of Donald Trump's hateful campaign, we will dedicate ourselves to the fight against Trump.

This event will begin promptly at 5:15pm, and end by 5:30pm--please don't show up fashionably late.

Co-sponsored by Jews United for Justice Campaign Fund.
