On June 21, Bend the Arc Jewish Action and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference will honor the legacy of slain civil rights activists James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Mickey Schwerner with a Vigil Against Violence.

We will continue their fight against the use of hate and violence in politics. A fight against racist oppression. We will call out Donald Trump’s racism, misogyny, and antisemitism and his incitement to violence and hatred.

The terrorist murders of Chaney, Schwerner, and Goodman are symbolic of what happens when hatred gets out of control. At the same time, the interfaith and multiracial coalition standing together to honor their memories will act as a rebuke to Trumpism and call to justice which, as Martin Luther King has taught us, is love in action.
